Deep Vein Thrombosis

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) occurs when blood clots form in veins located deep within in the body, most commonly in the legs. The blood clot may break off and travel in the blood stream through the heart and to the lungs, causing a pulmonary emoblism that that can be fatal. Advances in technology have improved treatments for DVT and help prevent fatal consequences.

- Cancer

- Lack of Movement

Symptoms of DVT

- Pain

- Swelling

- Warmth

- Tenderness

- Skin turns blue or red

- No symptoms
